Minge Lake locates in Qingxiu District, Nanning, which has become one of the new landmarks of Nanning. It was rebuilt on the original site of the original Nanning Folk Song Plaza. The reconstruction project was officially completed in 2011. The lake is a part of the water system around the city, with a total length of about 6.8 kilometers. It is also the most beautiful water area in the city center. The Minge Lake provides people with a new and charming tourist area integrating tourism, leisure, culture and entertainment together. In 2014, it was rated as the National 4A Class Scenic Area.
Main attractions at Minge Lake
The green area of Minge Lake is about 7 hectares. There are shrubs, palms, bamboos and more than 2,000 big trees on both sides of the trails in the park, as well as some new plants such as Ficus benjamina, phoenix tree, and hibiscus.
On the lake, there are four bridges including Qushui Bridge, Sound and Light Bridge, Lingbo Bridge, and Qixian Bridge. They are equipped with the beautiful natural landscape, creating a good and comfortable green leisure area.
The Minge Lake Plaza is composed of a daily performance stage and the square. The performance stage covers about 800 square meters which could accommodate about 1,500 people. The stage is circular and is embedded in the water, which becomes a unique landscape. This stage can hold singing and dancing performances, promotion activities, press releases and other activities. The square covers about 1,000 square meters and can accommodate about 400 people. Its viewing platform is the best place to enjoy the scenery of Minge Lake.
The Minge Lake Indoor Performing Hall is consisted of the ground floor and the indoor floor with a total area of 1078.5 square meters. The stage is 19.2 meters long and 11 meters wide. The performing arts hall has 300 luxurious seats, equipped with advanced lighting, sound equipment, and large LED screen. It can undertake various activities. The hall is officially put into use in August, 2013.
The most distinctive landscape of Minge Lake is the Bar Street. Its total construction area is about 18,888 square meters. The bar street is divided into the outer bar area, the inner bar area and the street bar area. The design of the entire bar street complex integrates the unique elements of Guangxi ethnic minorities and the modern architectural techniques, to fully demonstrate the charm of the combination of folk arts and modern arts. The unique architectural style makes it become a new fashion icon and one of the most distinctive streets in Nanning.
