The skywalk on Jinmao Tower opens today

Jinmao Tower, in the Lujiazui area of Shanghai's Pudong New Area, launches a new attraction on July 28th, 2016. The new attraction allows visitors to walk on an open-air glass walkway outside the building's 88th floor.

 

The skywalk is 340.6 meters high above the ground, and it is about 60 meters long and just 1.2 meters wide, without a handrail. So far, this skywalk is the world’s highest outdoor, handrail-free walkway on a skyscraper. It offers visitors a thrilling but safe opportunity to look out over the city. The management team of Jinmao's skywalk said the project does not damage or overload the building. Meanwhile, there is a guarantee of safety of visitors. The faculty will provide helmet to visitors. Also, visitors are harnessed to an overhead rail system that allows them to move about freely on the walkway.
