Historic and Cultural sites

The Wuyi Mountain boasts rich historical and cultural remains. The site of the Minyue State's Imperial City, built in the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), covers an area of 480,000 square meters and is the most intact site of any ancient town from this period in south of the Yangtze River. Tens of thousands of cultural relics of the Han Dynasty have been unearthed here. Moreover, Zhu Xi (1130-1200) studied, wrote books and taught students for 50-odd years on Wuyi Mountain and the rationalistic Confucian philosophical school he established gradually spread to other parts of the country and became an orthodox philosophical thought of the government. The Wuyi Academy established by Zhu Xi was the most influential college at that time.

Nine Bend Stream

The Nine Bend Stream, 9 kilometers long, meanders among the hills, presenting the most charming tourist route in this scenic zone. The stream water is so clear that you can see the stones at the bottom. On both sides of the Nine Bend Stream stand grotesque rocks. The Nine Bend Stream is also a good place for drifting. You will appreciate the lush trees on spectacular mountains when drifting smoothly with the water's flow. A refreshing cool breeze brushes past you as you feel the splash of water upon your face where the water rushes through the narrows between high cliffs. Altogether an exciting adventure in awe-inspiring surroundings!

Xiamei Ancient Village

The walk in the Xiamei Village brings you back in time to the Ming (1368 - 1644) and the Qing (1644 -1911) Dynasties. Most of buildings are very well preserved and featuring the sculpture of brisk, wood and stone, which is one part of the Wuyi World culture heritage.

Qinglong Waterfall

Qinglong is the largest waterfall in Mount Wuyi. The waterfall is located in the Wuyishan Great Gorge surrounded by virgin forest. The waterfall drops 120 meters creating a magnificent landscape around it. Visitors may also enjoy the beautiful valley scenery with the birds singing, fresh air and gentle breeze.
