Located at Futoushan (Mount Axe) in Chengdu northern suburbs, Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding has become one of domestic main base for the conservation of rare and endangered wild animals.


Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding Highlights


As a non-profit organization, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding has been created to imitate the panda’s natural habitat for providing the best possible environment for breeding and rearing young pandas.


Rare and endangered animals here include Giant Panda, Lesser Panda, the Black-necked Crane, the White Stock, the White Swan, the Black Swan, the Wild Goose, the Mandarin Duck, Peacock etc.


Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Museum
Founded in 1993 for further scientific research, Research Base of Giant Panda Museum presents detailed exhibits on panda evolution and habits. As the only museum for rare and endangered animal species in the world, this special museum aims at improvement of public awareness of the protection of wild creatures and their environment.


In addition to the Giant Panda Hall, it provides you with other two halls, that is the Butterfly Hall and the Vertebrate Hall, and all kinds of photos and more than 2,149 different nature samples gathered in Sichuan.
