Day 1: Kunming – Pingbian by bullet train | Miao Bonfire Night
Arrive at Pingbian Railway Station, where you will be met for a quick 10-minute transfer (2 km) to your hotel. After checking in and taking a brief 15-minute rest, enjoy a lunch featuring local Pingbian flavors.
In the afternoon, explore the Miao Medicine Museum and stroll through the adjacent Miao Medicine Street. Next, take a 10-minute drive to Dishuiceng Waterfall for a 1.5-hour tour, taking time for photo stops at the Miao Town Gate Square and Wind and Rain Bridge. After dinner and a short rest, head to Miao City Square to join the vibrant Miao Bonfire Party (a 1.5-to-2-hour weekly special event available on Fridays and Saturdays), then take a leisurely walk back to your hotel.
Day 2: Pingbian | Primitive Rainforest Trek
Following breakfast at the hotel, take a 30-minute drive (9 km) to Mount Dawei National Forest Park. Spend 3 to 5 hours on an in-depth exploration of the park, trekking through the mountain trails to cross the Sky Suspension Bridge and admire the Nine-Tier Waterfall. Please note that guests need to bring their own packed lunch for today's hike.
After completing the trek in the afternoon, return to the hotel for a well-deserved rest. In the evening, after dinner, enjoy free time to stroll through the area and take in the charming night views of Miao Town at your own pace.
Day 3: Pingbian | Railway Market & Historic "N-Shaped" Steel Bridge
After breakfast, set out on a 1h40m drive (44 km) to the Baihe Railway Market to experience this unique local event, which takes place exclusively on Mondays. For lunch, savor the famous local specialty, Baihe Cold Chicken (Baihe Liangji).
In the afternoon, drive for about 1h20m (42 km) to the N-Shaped Steel Bridge (French Bridge) Scenic Area along the historic Yunnan-Vietnam Railway. After taking in this remarkable hundred-year-old engineering marvel, transfer back to your hotel and wrap up the day with a local flavor dinner.
