Jiuzhai Valley National Park (Jiuzhaigou)
It is a place regarded as ‘Heaven on Earth’ or ‘Fairy-Tale in Real life’. It stretches over 72,000 hectares (180,000 acres), known for waterfalls, colorful lakes, and snow-capped peaks. Its elevation ranges from 2,000 to 4,500 meters (6,600 to 14,800 ft). In 1992, it was awarded by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Huanglong National Scenic Reserve
It is famous for diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks, as well as valleys and hot springs. Its terraced, colored limestone ponds of blues, turquoises, yellows and greens are exquisite.

Recommended Itinerary
Normally, we suggest a 3-day trip combines with Jiuzhaigou & Huanglong. Jiuzhaigou Airport (officially called Jiuhuang Airport) is 80 km north from the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area (1.5 hours’ car ride) and 50 km southeast from the Huanglong Scenic Area (1 hour’s car ride).
1. Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou Tour
Day 1: If your flight arrives before noon, firstly visit the Huanglong National Scenic Reserve to explore the secret of colorful limestone ponds. In the afternoon, you transfer to the hotel which is close to Jiuzhaigou.
Day 2: take a full-day visit to the Jiuzhai Valley National Park. There, you will see waterfalls, colorful lakes, as well as snow-capped peaks and other fascinating scenery. Just enjoy yourself!
Day 3: after breakfast, transfer to the airport.
2. Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Tour
Day 1: if your flight arrives in the afternoon, transfer to the hotel which is close to the Jiuzhai Valley National Park.
Day 2: take a full-day visit to the Jiuzhai Valley National Park. The Jiuzhai Valley National Park, a World Heritage Site, consists of several amazing sceneries such as Sparkling Lake, Nuorilang Waterfall, Five-colored Pool and Pearl Shoals. In the afternoon, go back to hotel.
Day 3: Today, visit the Huanglong National Scenic Reserve after breakfast. Terraced, colored limestone ponds of blues, turquoises, yellows and greens are waiting for you to explore their story. Then, transfer to the airport in the afternoon. The departure flight will leave after 16:00pm.
Tips:
- The scenic area might be crowded in holidays, especially National Day Holiday.
- In the peak season (September, October), having dinners in the hotel are required by most hotels in Jiuzhaigou area. In other season, some hotels provide at least one dinner in the hotel (eg, Sheraton Jiuzhaigou Resort).
- Huanglong scenic spot does not open to the public from December 1 to March 31 next year. However, Jiuzhaigou is available all year round.
