On February 1, 2026, the World Expo Museum announced that museums from China and the United Kingdom will cooperate to host a European art exhibition in Shanghai in the summer of 2027, showcasing artworks spanning nearly seven centuries.

Co-organized by the National Galleries of Scotland, Art Exhibitions China and the World Expo Museum, the exhibition was confirmed after the three parties signed a letter of intent in Shanghai. It will bring together more than 60 precious collections from the National Galleries of Scotland, covering the period from 1350 to 2021.

Major artistic movements such as the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and modern art will be included, with works by renowned artists like Peter Paul Rubens, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Edgar Degas expected to be on display.
