China Southern Airlines is set to launch a new direct route between Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX) and Helsinki Airport (HEL). Scheduled to commence on March 29, 2026, marking the start of the summer-autumn aviation season, this service will be the first direct link between the two capital cities and the inaugural Nordic route operated from Beijing Daxing.
The route will be operated by the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Initially, flights will run three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, before expanding to a daily service starting June 20.
Outbound (CZ8171): Departs PKX at 14:45, arriving in HEL at 18:35 (local time).
Inbound (CZ8172): Departs HEL at 20:35, arriving in PKX at 09:45 the following day.
This expansion strengthens Beijing Daxing’s role as a global aviation hub, offering seamless connections for passengers from over 50 domestic Chinese cities to Finland and broader Europe. The new route is expected to meet the rising demand for Finland’s unique tourism resources - ranging from the Finnish Lakeland and coastal archipelagos to the Northern Lights in Lapland - while facilitating increased trade and cultural exchange between China and Northern Europe.
