Kaifeng does not have an airport, so basically tourists do not choose to go to Kaifeng by air. If you have to, you could choose to go to Xinzheng Airport in Zhengzhou which is not far from here. So how can we get to Xinzheng Airport from Kaifeng? You could take an inter-city bus at Jinming Square and get off at Deyi Hotel in Zhengzhou. Then, take Bus 26 to Civil Aviation Hotel, and take an airport bus here. It take about 40 minutes to get to Zhengzhou Airport.
Kaifeng Railway Station is in the south of the central city of Kaifeng. Located in the Central Plain, Kaifeng has a quite convenient transportation. Tourists are able to travel to Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Xi'an and other cities westwards, and go to Xuzhou in Jiangsu Province and other cities eastwards. Kaifeng is 70 kilometers (about 43.50 miles) from Zhengzhou and 150 kilometers (about 93.21 miles) from Shangqiu. Tourists can go to all parts of China via Jingguang Raiway (Beijing-Guangzhou) and Jingjiu (Beijing-Kowloon) Railway.
Kaifeng is connected with many other cities including Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Sanmenxia and Shangqiu through freeways. Tourists can go to cities like Xinxiang, Anyang and even Beijing in the north as well as cities like Xuchang, Luohe, Zhumadian and even Shenzhen in the south. It will only take ten minutes to drive from the central city of Kaifeng to the freeway entrance. National Highway 106 (Beijing - Guangzhou) runs across Kaifeng from north to south. Moreover, Long-distance Bus Station in Kaifeng sits at the north of Kaifeng Railway Station.
