Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport

 

Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport is the most important transfer hub for tourists who want to visit Jiuzhaigou Valley and Huanglong National Park with flight arrival. Some travelers also take flight to Hongyuan Airport, which is about 250km from Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport during tourism peak season when flights to Jiuzhaigou are intense. Currently, it has direct flights to Chengdu, Chongqing, Xian, Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai and joint flights to Shenzhen and Hangzhou.

 

Distance to Jiuzhaigou Valley: 88 km

 

Transportation to city center:

 

Airport bus

The airport shuttle station is at the exit of the terminal building. The shuttle goes to the Huanglong National Scenic Reserve, then to Jiuzhai Valley National Park. A one-way ticket fare to Huanglong is 22Yuan.

 

Taxi

It will cost you 200 Yuan to get to Jiuzhaigou, and 180 Yuan to get to Huanglong from the airport.

 

 

Long-distance Bus

 

Although it takes longer time to get to Jiuzhaigou by bus, it remains the most popular means of transport among visitors due to the reasonable price of tickets. There are direct buses from Chengdu, Minyang, Dujiangyan and other cities to Jiuzhaigou. You’d better buy the ticket one day in advance. The driving time is around 8 to 10 hours. You should double check the name of your destination because Jiuzhaigou and Jiuzhaigou County are not the same place.

 

The East Line runs for about 520 kilometers (323 miles), passing through the cities of Guanghan, Deyang, Mianyang and Jiangyou, as well as Pingwu and Jiuzhaigou counties. Along this route, it is also possible to enjoy a great number of beautiful and well preserved natural sceneries, and is the first choice for those visitors wanting to experience natural China at its magical best.

 

The West Line which runs along the Min River is the most popular route for long-distance buses. Passing Dujiangyan City, Wenchuan, Mao, Songpan counties and Chuanzhusi Town, the West Line also takes in a number of local attractions. The route offers not only the chance to catch the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project, Mt. Siguniangshan, Munigou Valley and Huanglong Scenic and Historic Area, but also the opportunity to witness the traditional culture of the Tibetan and Qiang people.

 

 

Chartered Vehicle

 

This method of transport is often adopted by visitors who also want to get to the other destinations around Jiuzhai Valley National Park. You can hire a car with a driver at Jiuhuang Airport and go firstly to Huanglong Scenery and Historic Area and then to Jiuzhai Valley. If you prefer to travel independently, it is good to hire a car when you arrive in Chengdu or Mianyang. The whole route can then be catered to your interests.
