Starting from January 26, the Hong Kong Section of the High-Speed Rail, operated by MTR Corporation Limited, launches direct services to 16 new Mainland stations, including Nanjing, Wuxi and Hefei among others. The total number of Mainland stations directly accessible from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station rises to 110, covering 19 provincial-level administrative regions on the Chinese mainland.

Among the new stations, nine sit in Guangdong Province, achieving full high-speed rail coverage in eastern, western and northern Guangdong, with the exception of Yunfu City. The cumulative number of direct stations from Hong Kong to Guangdong hits 46; the remaining seven span East China and the southeastern coastal areas, encompassing core Yangtze River Delta cities and various spots in Fujian Province, filling the gap in direct high-speed rail links for certain areas.
