Day 1 Urumqi

Urumqi's International Grand Bazaar is a lively market showcasing Uyghur culture. Visitors can explore colorful stalls selling traditional crafts, spices, and textiles, sample local delicacies, and shop for unique souvenirs. It's a must-visit for an authentic Xinjiang experience.

Day 2 Urumqi

The Heavenly Lake is surrounded by the vastness of mountains and alpine meadows with an elevation of 2000 meters above sea level.
The Xinjiang Regional Museum is located in the center of Urumqi, showcasing a rich collection of historical artifacts and culture from Xinjiang. Visitors can explore the history and culture of Xinjiang, admire ancient Silk Road relics, and traditional crafts. It is not only a place for historical exhibits but also a destination to learn about Xinjiang's culture. Welcome to explore the Xinjiang Regional Museum and discover the unique charm of this magical land! Open time: 10:30-18:00. Entry stops after 16:30, and advance booking is required.Closed every Monday.

Day 3 Urumqi - Turpan (by automobile)

Jiaohe Ruins , Karez System, Emin Minaret
The Jiaohe Ruins reveals traces of a prosperous ancient trading center and military base 600 years ago.
The Karez System (UNESCO), an underground irrigation system, is considered to be one of the three great ancient projects of China. Its main function is to deliver water from nearby snow capped mountains to Turpan and its agricultural fields.
Emin Minaret, also known as Sugong Tower, is one of the most famous Islamic constructions and the only Islamic tower in China.

Day 4 Turpan

Flaming Mountain, Bazelik Thousand Buddha Caves, Gaochang Ancient Ruins
Pass by the Flaming Mountain, which is famous in the Chinese classical literature “Journey to the West”.
The Bazelik Thousand Buddha Caves has 77 caves and inside each cave is a rural of the Buddha painted on the ceiling along with hundreds of Buddhist sculptures and figures.
The Gaochang Ancient Ruins used to be the capital of ancient kingdom Gaochang, which is also the biggest ruins in Xinjiang.

Day 5 Turpan - Kumtag Desert - Urumqi (by automobile)

The Kumtag Desert, part of the Taklamakan Desert, is located south of Shanshan County in Xinjiang and is one of the only deserts in the world that is connected to a city.
