Day 1 Urumqi

Today take 6 hour’s drive to Korla. Once an important stop on the ancient Silk Road, Korla is now the transportation hub connecting the north and south of Xinjiang. On the road, you will see wind power station, Dasaka town, Bosten Lake.

On the way from Urumqi to Korla, along the southern route, lies the Daban City Wind Farm. Hundreds of wind turbines stand tall and spin gracefully on both sides of the road leading to the Silk Road town of Daban City. Against the backdrop of the majestic Bogda Peak, amidst the vast wilderness, they create a spectacular windmill world that contrasts with the blue sky and white clouds. This is the largest wind energy base in China - the Daban City Wind Farm in Xinjiang.
Bosten Lake Scenic Area in Xinjiang, China, is known for its stunning beauty and tranquility. Visitors can enjoy boat rides on the freshwater lake, surrounded by mountains and greenery. Today, visit the Keziliya Grand Canyon and the Iron Gate Pass in Kuqa.

Tianshan Grand Canyon, also known as Keziliya Grand Canyon, is a natural wonder located 48 kilometers from Urumqi City. It features lakes, canyons, grasslands, snowy mountains, and an ancient spruce forest. Visitors can experience nomadic life, enjoy activities like boating and hiking, and explore scenic spots such as Tianshui Lake, Green Dragon Bay, and Swan Lake.

Subashi Temple, Kuqa Museum, Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves
Subash Buddhist Temple Ruins, also known as Jiasi Daban Monastery, are located 20 kilometers northeast of Kuqa City in Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, China. Dating back to the Wei and Jin Dynasties, this site includes a Buddhist pagoda surrounded by temples, caves, halls, and monks' quarters. Well-preserved and split by a river, the ruins are mainly concentrated in the West Temple area.
The Kuqa Museum has collection of over 600 artifacts, including unearthed relics, cave murals, and folk artifacts, as documented in the Chinese Museum Yearbook.
The Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves is one of the best preserved caves in Xinjiang. It was built around 3rd century AD, and left about 265 caves today.

Day 6 Aksu - Kashgar (by automobile)

Today you will reach Kashgar after 6 hours' drive (around 468 km). On the road, you will have chances to stop for a break and take photos. After arriving in the late afternoon, check into the hotel and then enjoy the leisure time by yourself.

Day 7 Kashgar

Day 8 Kashgar - Urumqi (by air) - Turpan (by automobile)

Explore the city on your own this morning. In the afternoon, be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Urumqi.

Upon arrival, your tour guide in Urumqi will pick you up and transfer you to Turpan (about 2.5 hours driving). This desert oasis, also known as the Fire Island, will show you its historical heritage and unique natural landscape.

Day 9 Turpan

Karez System, Bazelik Thousand Buddha Caves, Gaochang Ancient Ruins
The Karez System (UNESCO), an underground irrigation system, is considered to be one of the three great ancient projects of China. Its main function is to deliver water from nearby snow capped mountains to Turpan and its agricultural fields.
The Bazelik Thousand Buddha Caves has 77 caves and inside each cave is a rural of the Buddha painted on the ceiling along with hundreds of Buddhist sculptures and figures.
The Gaochang Ancient Ruins used to be the capital of ancient kingdom Gaochang, which is also the biggest ruins in Xinjiang.

Day 10 Turpan - Urumqi (by automobile)
