Macao Museum of Art opens "The Long Journey: Forbidden City and Maritime Silk Road" exhibition on December 18th. This exhibition is in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.

The exhibition seeks to lead the audience to revisit the magnificence that ensued in the course of Chinese and Western cultural exchanges by displaying cultural gems associated with the Maritime Silk Road.

The exhibition is co-organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macao Special Administrative Region government and the Palace Museum in Beijing to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland.

Macao locates in the western side of the Pearl River Delta, and is a special administrative region of China. In the past, Macao is a former Portuguese colony. Today, the city still has the fusion of Mediterranean and Asian lifestyle, temperament and architecture. The city has the unique atmosphere spreading everywhere, which is different from the mainland China.
