Beijing 798 Art District Holds Marcel Duchamp Art Exhibition

From 24 April 2013 to 9 June 2013, Beijing 798 Art District holds an exhibition of Marcel Duchamp who is known as "the father of modern art". The exhibition displays a large amount of French-American painter's work, presenting dynamism and creativity of the French artistic.

 

 

A total number of 31 Duchamp's works and other copies of his masterpieces will be on show, including Marcel Duchamp’s famous work Boite-en-valise (box in a suitcase) which will be the first time presented in China. Meanwhile, the art center will also display works by 17 Chinese artists who have been influenced by Duchamp. The show is expected to be the fanciest artwork in China up to date. It aims to encourage better communication and exchanges between the two countries.
