Hongshan Park

Hongshan is an inner city hill in Urumqi that lies at the intersection of Hongshan Road. As the rocks of the hill reflect a bright red color, people call it Hongshan, meaning ‘Red Hill’ in Chinese.

More of an amusement park, Hongshan Park offers good city views especially from the 18th-century hill top pagoda – Zhenglong Pagoda. This Pagoda was built in 1788 by one of emperors in the Qing Dynasty to ward off the evil dragon and its spirits in legend. You can enjoy a splendid panoramic view of the city from the top of the mountain, especially in the evening, when the sunset will highlight the classical architectures and the skyscrapers. Besides the brick pagoda, the park has other tourist attractions as well.

The park owns lots of water, shade trees, a Ferris wheel and a Buddhist temple. Consequently, an easy stroll is definitely deserved, which will bring you unique and wonderful feelings.
