Lijiang Old Town Embraces Tourism Peak

As a UNESCO World Heritage site with a history of more than 800 years, Lijiang old town is embracing its tourism peak in recent months.

 

Lijiang old town was formally ranked as a top class tourism spot among China’s tourism ranking system on July 2011. During the first six month this year, there are in total 8.1 million people visiting Lijiang, a 56 percent increase compared with that of last year.

 

Lijiang old town is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province. The town is featured by crisscross ancient streets and lanes paved with colored stones and lined with residential houses of wood-stone-mud structure, being a perfect place for relaxation.
