Jinshanling Great Wall Scenic Relics Management Office recently announced the temporary closure of Jinshanling Great Wall since June 1st, 2017, while the date of reopening is undetermined. The main reason of the closure is to renovate road and other facilities inside the scenic area.

The Jinshanling section of Great Wall is 142km northeast of Beijing and marks the starting point of an exhilarating 7km hike to Simatai Great Wall. For people who prefer less touristy section of the Great Wall, Sinatai may be another good option when Jinshangling is closed.
