Shanghai Huangpu District People's Government has announced its plans to temporarily close Yu Garden to visitors during September 19 to October 31 for environmental improvement. Yu Garden Market will open as usual.

Yu Garden is an extensive Chinese garden located beside the City God Temple in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai. It dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and is the only classic Chinese garden in the downtown area of Shanghai city.
