A new international passenger air route linking Yinchuan, Guangzhou, and Singapore officially commenced operations on August 10, 2026, establishing a vital aviation corridor between Northwest China and Southeast Asia. The inaugural flight, carrying 185 passengers, departed from Yinchuan Hedong International Airport in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Operated daily by 9 Air utilizing Boeing 737 aircraft, the service replaces previously complex, multi-stop itineraries with a streamlined schedule, significantly shortening travel times while offering more affordable travel options for regional passengers.

According to the Ningxia Airport Company, the new air link facilitates seamless two-way connectivity by bridging Northwest China with both the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Southeast Asia’s premier transit hub. Beyond passenger mobility, the route establishes an efficient logistics and business bridge that supports the export of Ningxia’s specialty agricultural products—such as premium wolfberries and Helan Mountain wines—into Southeast Asian markets. Simultaneously, it unlocks fresh opportunities for Singapore’s trade and financial institutions looking to engage with emerging markets across China’s northwestern inland.

For international travelers and Southeast Asian holidaymakers planning their China travel itineraries, the new connection makes Yinchuan and the wider Ningxia region exceptionally accessible. Visitors from Singapore can now easily journey into Northwest China to explore iconic attractions, from the dramatic landscapes of the Tengger Desert and Shapotou to the ancient Western Xia Imperial Tombs and the scenic Yellow River corridor. Enhanced by mutual visa-free travel between China and Singapore, this daily air bridge is set to drive steady growth in cross-border leisure tourism and cultural exchange.
