Huangshan Scenic Area, a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site and Global Geopark in southern Anhui Province, initiated winter maintenance on December 1, with several major attractions temporarily closed to the public.

The West Sea Canyon and Tiandu Peak, two iconic attractions of Huangshan Scenic Area, are temporarily closed for winter maintenance, and the scenic area’s West Gate is closed during the same period. Their reopening dates will be announced at a later date. Notably, Lianhua Peak - one of Huangshan’s three main peaks - remains closed as part of its regular ecological conservation rotation.

Stretching approximately 15 kilometers in the western par  of Huangshan, the West Sea Canyon, also known as "White Cloud Valley," is famous for its spectacular landscapes: steep cliffs, exotic rock formations, and gurgling springs, which embody grandeur, awe-inspiring drama, and tranquility. Tiandu Peak, located in the southeast of the scenic area, is one of Huangshan’s three main peaks, along with Guangmingding and Lianhua Peak. Historically known as "the Capital of Immortals," it gets its name from its towering, celestial-like stature.
