A second high-speed rail route to link Guangzhou and Shenzhen is set to begin construction in 2024 and be finished by 2029. The introduction of this high-speed railway will significantly reduce travel time between Guangzhou and Shenzhen airports to just 20 minutes.
Besides, the new route can help make travel within Guangdong Province more efficient, and enable a “half hour traffic circle” between cities of Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Shenzhen. The new high-speed rail will pass through five stations along the way: Guangzhou North Railway Station, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Yuzhu Station, Dongguan Central Station, and Shenzhen Baoan International Airport.
