From Sept 3, the Forbidden City (also known as Palace Museum) in central Beijing began to undergo a key repair and renovation project that aims to build a spacious and modernized exhibition hall.
During the project, the west and east wing of Forbidden City's Tian’anmen Gate will be surrounded by scaffolding. The project is expected to end on May 31, 2015.
