Firefly-themed park opens in Wuhan

A firefly-themed park started to open in Wuhan in central China on June 4. The theme park is located in the Peony Park in the East Lake and it will continue to October 7.

 

With an area of 800 square meters, the firefly-themed park is consisted of five main zones. The zero-distance contact zone enables visitors to be confronted with thousands of fireflies. The mysterious atmosphere at night is created by the introduced 30 to 50 thousand of fireflies.

 

 

The aim of the park is to popularize the basic information of fireflies to the city dwellers, especially for the children. All the fireflies showed in the park are not acquired from the wild but are introduced from the breeding bases.

 

The opening hours of the park last from 19:00 to 22:00 at night.
