Beijing has officially been designated as the UNESCO-UIA (International Union of Architects) World Capital of Architecture for 2029, UNESCO announced in Paris. Selected following a recommendation from the Joint Committee for the World Capital of Architecture, China’s historic capital will also host the prestigious UIA World Congress that year.
