Recently, the 2nd Chongqing Small Oil Painting Exhibition in 2021 opens in Chongqing. The exhibition is co-sponsored by Chongqing Oil Painting Society and Southwest University. This exhibition will be on display at Southwest University Museum and the Fine Arts Museum of the School of Fine Arts of Southwest University until April 16.
It is understood that the rise of small oil painting originated from the “Dutch school of small painting” in the 17th century. Due to the small size of a painting, it is particularly delicate and beautiful.
Pang Maokun, the Chairman of Chongqing Artists Association and President of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, said that this exhibition provides a platform and basis for discussion on this topic, and “it is worth our serious thinking to find some ideas and clues to solve the problem.”
