Shanghai Museum kicks off an ox-themed art for new year

Shanghai Museum opened the first new art show, the Chinese zodiac show of the ox theme on February 2 for the Chinese New Year of the Ox.
 
The zodiac exhibition reflects two themes in traditional society from various aspects: sacrifice and farming. It is jointly organized by both Shanghai Museum and National Museum of Korea. There are totally 8 groups of ox-themed cultural relics distributing in different halls. The central section of the display is located in the lobby of the Shanghai Museum. 
 
This exchange exhibition is the result of communication and cooperation between international museums. The eight objects of sculptures, jade and paintings in display all related to the ox, the symbolic animal for the Lunar New Year beginning from Feb 12th. 
 
The art show would end after March 7th, 2021.
