The Chinese version of the Disney musical "The Lion King" will be staged at the Shanghai Disney Resort.
The Chinese-speaking musical, which will stay true to the original English version, will be performed at the 1,200-seat Walt Disney Theater in the resort. The show will recruit local actors this summer.
The first Disney resort on the Chinese mainland is scheduled to open at the end of 2015. It will boast two themed hotels, a large retail, dining and entertainment venue and an array of recreation facilities, and has been designed to incorporate Chinese elements as well as Disneyland traditions.
