The 17th Lusheng Horse Fighting Festival has been held in Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, Guangxi Province. The celebration has lasted for 3 days from Nov 17 to 19. A series of interesting activities and performances were presented at the festival.

One highlight of the main activities is Dǎ Tóng Nián between local Miao residents and ASEAN ethnic minorities. Dǎ Tóng Nián is a series of performances including the bamboo dances, Lusheng (a reed-pipe wind instrument) playing and folk song singing.

Horse fighting competition is also worth seeing. At the beginning of the competition, local horse trainer would pull out a mare first to flirt with both of the rival stallions. To win the beauty, 2 competitors would fight each other valiantly and fiercely. There are also similar competitions among birds and roosters held in Rongshui.

Lusheng Horse Fighting Festival has been entitled into the China National Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
