Giant Panda National Park to be completed by the end of 2020

The Giant Panda National Park stretches across three provinces, Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu, with a total area of ​​21,734 square kilometers. After the completion, it will be the first batch of the national parks in China, which was built in the Giant Panda’s main habitat.

 

According to the results of the fourth national giant panda survey, there are about 1,631 wild giant pandas inhabiting in the national park. The giant panda is an iconic symbol of China and one of the most adorable creatures across the globe. The national park accounts for 80% of the Chinese giant panda population.

 

Up to now, there are nearly 1,800 animal and plant monitoring sample lines in the Giant Panda National Park, and 4,839 wild animal monitoring points. In the past six months, there have been 873 times of the independent detections of the wild giant pandas.

 

Giant Panda National Park has continuously strengthened its efforts in ecological protection and ecological restoration, and has invested nearly 4.7 billion RMB. It has carried out a lot of work in the construction of monitoring facilities, ecological protection infrastructures, and ecological corridors.
