Universal Parks, which headquartered in Orlando, Florida US, operates different themes of entertainment and resort properties around the world. Universal Park & Resort is best known for attractions and lands based on famous pop culture properties (movies, television, literature, cartoons, comics, video games, music, etc.) After rounds of negotiation, Universal Theme Parks expects to open in Tongzhou District, Beijing by 2020. It will be the third Universal Theme Park in Asia, and sixth in the world.

The construction of the $8 billion Hollywood theme park started at the beginning of this December, and tourists will enjoy the wonderland by 2020.

With a 10 million-visitor target, the park will have seven main sightseeing areas, including themes based on the Jurassic Park and Despicable Me film plots, making itself a strong but additional Western attraction to Beijing's traditional and Eastern tourist and culture sites. The second phase park could then involve another themed site, a water park and five more resort hotels on old basis.

But the Universal Park in Beijing has its own characters. It will contain strong Chinese elements in its catering, hotels, and consumer goods.

The Batong subway line, which connects Tongzhou district to downtown Beijing, and Line 7 in Beijing will both easily accessible to the Universal Park.
