Sightseeing Tower on the World‘s Longest Sea-spanning Bridge Opens to Public in Hangzhou

The viewing platform built on Hangzhou Bay Bridge, the longest sea-spanning bridge throughout the world, opened to the public on Sunday. It is also the world’s first sightseeing platform built at sea.


Encompassing some 40 thousand square meters, the sightseeing platform consists of an outdoor platform and an all-glass viewing tower. In the shape of an eagle with its wings wide spread, the sightseeing tower provides vistas reaching as far as Beilun Harbor in Ningbo city and the Qiantang River which is renowned for its sensational tide. Inside the tower, there are cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. The fifth floor of the tower is a five-star hotel with 27 rooms including a presidential suite.


According to Mr. Gong, the manager of the company operating the tourist sight, the tower saw an expected number of about 15,000 visitors on its first opening day and the peak visiting flow was during 10 am. to 2 pm..


The sightseeing tower opens from 8 am. to 8 pm. everyday. To enter the platform, you have to spend 50 yuan. The ticket for the viewing tower costs another 60 yuan and the ticket for the whole sight of the viewing platform is 100 yuan.
