On September 2nd, Guo Jiakun, the spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that in order to further facilitate the exchange of people between China and foreign countries, China has decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries. From September 15th, 2025, to September 14th, 2026, a trial visa-free policy will be implemented for Russian citizens holding ordinary passports.
Russian citizens with ordinary passports who come to China for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchange visits, or transit for no more than 30 days can enter China without applying for a visa. This policy is expected to significantly boost the number of Russian visitors to China, further strengthening the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as economy, culture, and tourism.
This new visa-free measure is a substantial step taken by China to promote international people-to-people exchanges, which not only reflects the close bilateral relations between China and Russia but also provides more convenience and opportunities to communicate and interact.
