China and UAE reached visa exemption agreement on January 16th 2018, by signing a memorandum of understanding exempting Emirati citizens from the pre-entry visas to China. From that day, Emiratis entering China will be allowed to stay for up to 30 days for each visit.

UAE has been the eleventh country reached visa exemption agreement with China. There are other 10 visa-free countries such as Ecuador, San Marino, Bahamas, etc.

Ahmed Saeed Elham Al Dhaheri, the Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs, highlights the importance of the agreement which will open up more avenues for tourism and trade. The UAE airline companies operate around 60 regular flights to China weekly, showing growing economic and trade cooperation. This agreement provides convenience for Emiratis visiting and learning more about China, enhancing mutual understanding and strengthening friendship.
