Beijing is set to add three new subway sections to its rail network by the end of 2025, improving connectivity across the city for commuters and visitors. The new lines include the middle section of Line 17 (Shilihe - Workers' Stadium), Line 18 (Maliangwa - Tiantongyuan East), and the southern extension of Line 6 (Lucheng - Luyang).
Line 17, a key north-south trunk line, will reduce the travel time between Jiahuihu and Future Science City North to 66 minutes once fully connected. Line 18 will serve northern residential and tech hubs, while Line 6’s extension will enhance transit links in Tongzhou District.
All new stations are equipped with user-friendly facilities such as accessible toilets, mother-and-baby rooms, and AED emergency devices. Yong’anli Station, popular with foreign visitors, provides multilingual translators and upgraded bilingual signs for easy navigation.
Final preparations are underway for the official launch, which will offer a smooth and convenient travel experience to all passengers from the first day of service.
