Xi’an and Istanbul being linked by direct flight

A new direct flight connecting Xi’an, the historical city in the northern part of China, and Istanbul, a famous tourism destination in Turkey is opened on December 30th. Operated by Turkish Airlines, the flight is scheduled to fly on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

 

Being operated by Airbus A330 aircraft, the flight TK197 departs from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport at 00:35 Beijing time. After 10.5 hours, it arrives at Istanbul Airport at 06:10 local time. The flight TK196 leaves from Istanbul at 01:55 local time, and arrives in Xi’an at 16:10 Beijing time.

 

According to the airlines, Xi’an is the 318th destination of Turkish Airlines. Turkish Airlines was founded in 1933. It launched the first China route, Beijing-Istanbul line in 1999, and later opened Shanghai-Istanbul line in 2000, and Guangzhou-Istanbul line 2011.

 

Xi’an locates in central-northwest China, and it has the history of more than 3,000 years. Xi’an is the eastern terminal of the Silk Road and is famous for the Terracotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty around the world. At present, Xi'an has become the important economic, cultural, industrial and educational center of the central-northwest region in China, and provides visitors around the world with better and more convenient services.
