A breeding pair of giant pandas were welcomed to Britain as they landed at Edinburgh Airport on Sunday. They settled down in Edinburgh Zoo.

This is in accordance with China’s announcement earlier this year in January that China will loan two giant pandas to Britain as part of a 10-year agreement on panda conservation signed by the two countries.

To ensure a home-like stay in Britain, two Chinese researchers have also arrived there looking after the pandas until they get adapted to the new environment. Edinburgh Zoo has sent experienced staff to China to learn the skill of raising pandas and also built separate pavilions for the widely-adored animals.
