Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang province, is going to organize the second Xianghu Dialogue from 18th to 21st of September. The Hangzhou-based World Tourism Alliance strongly supports this event, in the hope of boosting communications and cooperation in the global tourism industry.

The event last year ended in a great success. More than 600 tourism organizations, research institutes and foreign embassies in China participated. They all acknowledged the importance of bilateral cooperation and communications.

The participants are going to discuss the looming changes in the tourism industry, including the perspectives on the future industry. Jayson Westbury, the CEO of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents, believes that it will be a meaningful conference as most participants can express their opinions. Also, he adds that the event can establish long-term and meaningful relationships in the global tourism industry.

Jiang Yiyi, a professor from Beijing Sport University, points out that the imbalance of tourism development and the rising trade protectionism can hinder the development of the tourism industry. It is vital for embassies to talk face-to-face in this official event.
