On Feb 22nd, art works from the collection of late English singer-songwriter George Michael are on exhibition at Christie's Shanghai Art Space. George Michael is one of the best-selling recording artists in the global pop music scene, who owned a collection of contemporary art that included works by renowned British artists such as Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.

Shanghai is the only city in China where his artworks will be exhibited. According to Jussi Pylkkanen, the global president of Christie's, the exhibition hope to provide a fascinating insight into the broader tastes of a man who was deeply admired all over the world.

George Michael was one of the first Western pop singers to tour China in 1985 when he performed as a member of the duo Wham. He later embarked on a successful solo career and won prestigious awards, including two Grammy's. In 2008 he was ranked 40th on Billboard's list of the Greatest Hot 100 Artists of All Time.
