Air China started the non-stop Tokyo-Wuhan international route on August 27. Before this direct airline service, passengers who fly between Tokyo and Wuhan must transfer flights at Beijing or Shanghai. The newly launched non-stop service successfully cuts the travelling time to only four hours, about half of the flight time in the past.

This new route is scheduled with two flights every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flight starts from Wuhan at 14:35 and arrives in Tokyo at 19:15, while the Tokyo-Wuhan flight sets off at 20:15 and lands at 23:20. The airbus A320 will be adopted for this airline route.

This is also the first scheduled international flight from Wuhan. According to Air France, a new Paris-Wuhan route may also be launched in September.
