A ten hour flight with connections to over 40 destinations in Europe allows passengers to arrive at their final destination in the morning, ideal for business travellers seeking onward passage. Finnair is a compelling option for travellers going to destinations such as Copenhagen, London, Barcelona and Stockholm. The expected passengers from Shenzhen and Delta Area to Helsinki through Hong Kong are estimated to reach 3000 a year.

Finnair is also investing in an advertising, marketing and PR campaign in Hong Kong and Shenzhen and opening a representative office in Shenzhen to further build its brand in Southern China.

The launch campaign will last for 3 months and has gone live this week in Central MTR station in Hong Kong. For the first time the brand is also investing in a 2 months outdoor campaign in Shenzhen to reach travellers who live just over the border and who use Hong Kong airport.

Jonne Lehtioksa, Sales Director, Hong Kong & Australia, Finnair commented: “As well as focusing our attention on Hong Kong passengers, we want to emphasise the ease of travel between Delta Area and Europe using Hong Kong as a departure base. Finnair is investing in the Asia Pacific region and aims to draw more business between Hong Kong and China and the rest of Europe.”

A member of the Oneworld Alliance, Finnair recently invested one billion Euros in the renewal of its fleet. Finnair’s long haul fleet consists entirely of new Airbus A340 and A330 aircraft. Finnair currently flies its scheduled flights with the most modern fleet of all the world's network airlines. The airline flies to nine destinations in Asia including Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo and Bangkok.
