Chongqing Airlines to open Chongqing - Colombo air route

According to the Chongqing Airlines, a new direct flight will open between Chongqing, the largest municipality in southwest China and Colombo, the commercial and financial capital of Sri Lanka on December 28th. Chongqing Airlines operates both domestic flight services within mainland China and international flight services to Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam respectively.

 

The new air route will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft of Chongqing Airlines. The flight OQ2393 will depart from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 17:25 Beijing time on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It will arrive in Bandaranaike International Airport at 21:10 local time. The fly time is about 6 hours. The return flight OQ2394 will leave Colombo at 22:10 local time and arrive in Chongqing at 06:00 (+1) Beijing time.

 

Known as the 'Mountain City', Chongqing has a wavy terrain and plentiful water reserves, mineral resources, dense forests, and fauna. Chongqing attracts millions visitors from home and abroad for its natural wonders and cultural heritage. As a common starting port for the Yangtze River Cruise, tourists can have a downstream tour to the magnificent Three Gorges along the Yangtze River.
