The visa exemption agreement between China and Uzbekistan will come into force on June 1, 2025, according to an announcement from the Consular Affairs Department of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Under the agreement, holders of valid Chinese diplomatic, service, and ordinary passports, as well as Uzbek ordinary passport holders, will be exempt from visa requirements when entering, exiting, or transiting through the other contracting party’s territory. This exemption applies to single stays not exceeding 30 days and accumulated stays not exceeding 90 days within any 180-day period.

Those intending to stay beyond 30 days per entry, seek residency, or engage in activities requiring prior approval from the host country’s competent authorities - including employment, study, or journalistic activities - must obtain appropriate visas before entering the other contracting party’s territory.
