China has decided to expand the scope of visa-free countries. Ordinary passport holders from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain can enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, exchanges, visits, or transit for no more than 30 days, announced by Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry at a regular press conference on May 28.
The policy will take effect from June 9, 2025 to June 8, 2026. In addition to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, which have had full mutual visa exemption with China since 2018, China has now achieved full visa-free coverage for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
“We welcome more friends from GCC countries to take a trip to China,” Mao Ning said.
