On May 1, 2013, nearly 40 young people dressed in traditional Han Chinese clothing revived the ancient Chinese coming-of-age ceremony outside the Han Great Wall relics in Xi'an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province. The ceremony draws great attention of both locals and tourists.

The origin of traditional Han Dynasty coming-of-age ceremony could be dated back to thousands of years ago. In the ceremony young people would be granted headwears representing they have been deemed as adults with social and family responsibilities.
