From October 15th this year to March 15th, 2020, the World Heritage site Potala Palace in Lhasa will open for free to the visitors announced by the palace's administrative office. This year’s visitor-friendly policy is part of Lhasa's third round of promoting winter tourism.

The ticket price of Potala Palace is 200 RMB during the high season from May 1st to October 31st. It is 100 RMB for the low season from November 1st to April 30th, according to the official website of the Potala Palace.

To ease the pressure of visitors to the Potala Palace during the high season, tourists should make the appointment for the entrance ticket one day in advance. Visitors can book the tickets through the official website or at the ticket office with their ID cards, and each person can reserve up to five tickets, said by the palace's administrative office.

Tibet Potala Palace is the highest ancient palace in the world. The palace was mainly made of stones and woods, and was decorated with special local willow branches called Baima Grass. It is now an important symbol of the cultural and economic communication between Tibet Autonomous Region and the world.
