Pompidou gallery will open in Shanghai after a decade attempt

The Pompidou Centre, a well-known French collection of modern arts, will open a franchised gallery in Shanghai from 2019 to 2024. It is recognized as a significant cultural exchange between China and France.

 

There will be 20 exhibitions and events being held in the event featuring on various cultural programs from Pompidou's collections and representative works of Chinese contemporary art.

 

The Pompidou Centre will play an advisory role throughout the collaboration as well as contributing its expertise on art conservation, public art education and curating.

 

West Bund Art Museum, designed by British architect David Chipperfield, will be the exclusive partner of the Pompidou Centre for cultural exchange programs in the Yangtze Delta Area. It is expected to open at the end of 2018.
