On Monday, the Chongqing Airlines announced the opening of a new air route between southwest China's Chongqing Municipality and Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City as scheduled on April 2.

As the first direct connection between Chongqing and Ho Chi Minh, the service will be operated by Airbus A320 aircraft every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The flight will leave Chongqing at 11:00 p.m. Beijing time and arrive in Ho Chi Minh at 1:40 a.m. local time the next day. The return flight will depart from Ho Chi Minh at 2:40 a.m. and arrive in Chongqing at 7:15 a.m.

This new air route linking Chongqing and Ho Chi Minh will facilitate the tourism between two cities. Widely acknowledged as the largest industrial and economic center in southwestern China, Chongqing is a popular destination for travelers with its hilly slopes, rivers, night views and spicy food.
