National Maritime Museum in Tianjin to open soon

According the officer in Tianjin Binhai New Area, the first national maritime museum in China is scheduled to open to the public this year. Up to now, the venue construction has entered into the final stage.

 

The museum locates in Binhai New Area in Tianjin Municipality. The museum covers an area of 150,000 square meters. The 3-story museum will be free for visitors when opened. The exhibition hall area covers 23,000 square meters and will be divided into 6 sections. The exhibition will feature a wide range of themes including the Chinese marine culture and history, marine ecology and environment, science education and interactive programs. In addition, the museum will install shopping stores, specialty restaurants, cafes and cinemas.

 

The National Maritime Museum in Tianjin is expected to become a platform for enhancing public awareness of sea protection, marine research and a good place to promote the marine culture. In the future it will become an education base for protection, education, scientific research, cultural communication, tourism and sightseeing.
