Ming and Qing Dynasties’ garment displayed in Shandong Provincial Museum

From 8 June to 18 June, an exhibition displaying a large selection from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties’ wardrobes is held at the Shandong Provincial Museum in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province.

 

 

The exhibition presents about 200 garments once were worn by emperors, nobles and ordinary people. Exhibits are collected from the Palace Museum, Shandong Provincial Museum and Qufu Cultural Relics Management Committee.

 

The Qing clothing exhibition area presents about 60 items selected from the Palace Museum, introducing the influence of Manchu on Han styles. The Ming clothing display area shows a collection of the Kong Family Mansion, presenting the attire of Ming nobility for court, ceremony and daily life.
